Statement From RNC Chairman Michael Steele On President Obama’s Second Stimulus Proposal

Mon, 09/06/2010 - 3:09pm
WASHINGTON – Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Michael Steele released the following statement today: “President Obama’s proposal of another $50 billion in economic ‘stimulus’ proves that Washington Democrats have run out of ideas to jumpstart our economy. Recycling the same disastrous policies that failed to generate sustainable job growth and resulted in record deficits is not the response struggling middle-class families are looking for from this White House. President Obama should be focusing on improving the overall economic climate so businesses can create permanent private sector jobs, not charging another 50 billion dollars to the nation’s credit card in an attempt to create the impression that his party is being constructive in solving the country’s economic woes. Democrat candidates owe voters an explanation on whether they will stand with President Obama on his latest spending spree.”

Statement From RNC Chairman Michael Steele On The August Unemployment Numbers

Fri, 09/03/2010 - 6:38am
WASHINGTON – Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Michael Steele released the following statement today: “With 54,000 more Americans finding themselves out of work this month and unemployment rising to 9.6 percent, President Obama’s ‘Recovery Summer’ has ended right where it began, with Americans continuing to lose their jobs and unable to find new ones. President Obama’s endless defense of his failed policies has fallen flat with the American people who see a White House that is as ineffective as it is out of touch. Every time President Obama and Congressional Democrats claim that the economy is ‘heading in the right direction,’ they insult the intelligence of American families who are struggling to get by. It is no wonder Americans are turning to Republican candidates and their pro-growth solutions which will put an end to the economic uncertainty and put a check on this White House’s reckless fiscal policies.”

Statement From RNC Chairman Michael Steele On The Alaska Senate Primary

Wed, 09/01/2010 - 6:55am
WASHINGTON – Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Michael Steele released the following statement today: “After a spirited primary, I want to congratulate Joe Miller on winning Alaska’s nomination, and also thank his opponent Senator Lisa Murkowski for her service to our Party and our country. “Alaskans have selected a fiscal conservative who will fix Washington and stand up to the Obama agenda by working to rein in out-of-control spending, reduce our $13 trillion national debt, and lower the tax burden for families and small businesses. I am absolutely confident Joe Miller will be the next Senator from Alaska, and the Republican Party looks forward to his leadership in the Senate.”

Republican National Committee And The Republican Party Of Wisconsin Announce D2H Victory Campaign

Thu, 08/26/2010 - 7:06am
WASHINGTON – The Republican National Committee (RNC) today announced Wisconsin’s D2H Victory campaign to establish the grassroots political operation to ensure Republican candidates are successful in November.  In partnership with the Republican Party of Wisconsin (RPW), the RNC is providing funding and resources to build the in-state GOP structure to support Republican leaders. The RNC will devote the resources necessary to enhance the RPW’s ability to effectively reach Republican voters and tap into the state’s grassroots volunteer base.  This investment in Republican state parties is a critical part of the RNC’s Delaware to Hawaii (“D2H”) strategy to compete aggressively in all fifty states.  “In a coordinated effort to fire Feingold and take back the governor’s mansion, the RNC is excited to be partnering with the RPW to win both of these important races in November,” said RNC Chairman Michael Steele.  “The accomplishments of the Republican Party start with the energized volunteers who go door-to-door, make phone calls, attend events, and reach out to Republican voters in their own communities and neighborhoods.  Republicans in Wisconsin are sending a clear message to Russ Feingold and Democrats across the state that it’s time to change the tax, borrow and spend policies of President Obama that are killing our economy and pushing our children and grandchildren further into debt.” Wisconsin Republicans continued to pace the nation for grassroots efforts, with more than 100,000 individual voter contacts in a single day this past Saturday, topping all other states in the country.  With every day that passes, Wisconsin becomes more and more of a battleground state and Republicans are working to make sure the battle is won on November 2nd. “I would like to thank Chairman Steele for providing the RPW with these vital resources as we inch closer toward November.  The resources are further proof that Chairman Steele and the RNC are invested heavily in Ron Johnson, Scott Walker and every Republican candidate across the state this November,” said Reince Priebus, Chairman of the RPW.  “This sophisticated political operation will help capture the overwhelming support Republicans are seeing day-in and day-out and harness the displeasure of the big government agenda of Democrats across the state and in Washington.  Wisconsinites couldn’t be more energized and ready to fight for Wisconsin and I am excited to be a part of it.” In 2009, Republicans made 5.8 million voter contacts and put in 165,715 volunteer hours, resulting in victories across the country.  In total, last year Republicans won 26 of 37 special elections and played a major role in more than 30 successful races.  The RNC is building on this success with strategic investments in key states and districts that will help deliver Republican victories in November.

Statement From RNC Chairman Michael Steele On The Arizona Primaries

Tue, 08/24/2010 - 7:28am
WASHINGTON – Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Michael Steele released the following statement today: “Congratulations to Governor Jan Brewer, Senator John McCain and all the Republicans who won their primary contests tonight.  Both of these individuals understand the importance of securing our border, and our nation needs more strong leaders like them to stand up to this Administration’s reckless agenda.  The Republican Party stands united behind all Republicans in Arizona and we will continue to assist them to ensure they are victorious in November.”

Statement From RNC Chairman Michael Steele On The Vermont Primaries

Tue, 08/24/2010 - 7:27am
WASHINGTON – Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Michael Steele released the following statement this evening: “Tonight, Vermont voters sent a clear message that they want candidates on the ballot who are laser focused on growing Vermont’s economy and creating jobs.  And this evening, they did just that by nominating Republicans that are committed to smaller government, lower taxes, and job creation.  The Republican Party is excited to have a core group of strong candidates led by Brian Dubie who will stand up to the big government, tax-and-spend agenda in Montpelier and Washington, D.C. “While the reckless economic policies of Washington, D.C. have pushed the nation’s unemployment rate to 9.5%, under Republican Governor Jim Douglas, Vermont’s state unemployment rate is among the lowest in the country. It is clear that Brian Dubie is the best candidate to continue Vermont on a strong path forward.  In November, the people of Vermont will elect Republicans offering common sense solutions to create jobs and improve the economy.”

Statement From RNC Chairman Michael Steele On The Florida Primaries

Tue, 08/24/2010 - 7:24am
WASHINGTON – Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Michael Steele released the following statement today following the Florida primary results: “I want to congratulate Marco Rubio, Rick Scott, and all the Republican nominees who won their primaries this evening. “Marco Rubio is a principled candidate whose commitment to limited government and fiscal restraint will serve as a much needed check and balance to the Democrats’ reckless spending. Rubio is the only candidate in the Florida Senate race Floridians can trust to stand up to the big-government agenda that the Obama-Reid-Pelosi Democrat leadership continues to try to ram through Congress. “Rick Scott is a strong conservative candidate for Governor, who will no doubt be victorious against liberal Democrat Alex Sink, who has supported President Obama in everything from his government takeover of health care to his failed $862 billion stimulus. I’m confident that Floridians will rally behind all of our Republican nominees, and that we will see many GOP victories throughout the entire state of Florida in November.”

Statement From RNC Chairman Michael Steele On The Rise In Jobless Benefit Claims

Thu, 08/19/2010 - 11:00am
WASHINGTON – Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Michael Steele released the following statement today: “This month’s jump in jobless claims may have surprised some economists, but it’s no surprise to the American families who are struggling to adjust to the Obama economy.  With unemployment claims hitting a nine-month high and a struggling housing market, middle-class Americans are losing faith in the Democrat leaders at the helm of our country.  The Administration’s ‘Recovery Summer' has been an epic failure and it is way past time for the White House to be straight with the American people and admit that $862 billion stimulus did not do what was promised.  It is clear that the Democrats’ strategy of reckless spending, ballooning deficits, and higher taxes are not the answer and that we need to pursue Republican pro-growth solutions to get our economy back on track.”

Republican National Committee And The Delaware Republican Party Announce D2H Victory Campaign

Thu, 08/19/2010 - 7:36am
WASHINGTON – The Republican National Committee (RNC) today announced Delaware’s D2H Victory campaign, a critical component in the RNC’s Delaware to Hawaii (“D2H”) strategy to compete aggressively in all fifty states.  Through this program, the RNC and the Delaware Republican Party are building the in-state campaign structure to support Republican candidates with funding for staff and offices, state-of-the-art voter contact technologies, and improved voter identification capacity through access to the RNC’s vast database of voter information. By enhancing the Delaware GOP’s ability to effectively reach and communicate with voters, Republican candidates across the state will benefit from increased energy during the campaign and with turnout efforts in November.  This investment will strengthen Republican campaign operations across Delaware by expanding the strategic political resources available to Republican candidates, party leaders, and activists from across the state.    “The Delaware Republican Party has built an unprecedented campaign operation this cycle and this partnership with the RNC will push us across the goal line to victory in November,” said RNC Chairman Michael Steele. “This investment provides the tools and resources to build on our Republican momentum and send a clear message to the White House that an endless reliance on growing government to create jobs has failed.”       “The resources that the RNC is providing will amplify the Republican message and motivate voters to get to the ballot box,” said Tom Ross, Chairman of the Delaware Republican Party. “Mike Castle, Michele Rollins, and our team of Republican candidates are offering Delawareans leadership that protects them from a massive expansion of government while offering policies that promote innovation, the entrepreneurial spirit, and job creation. Delaware’s D2H Victory campaign is unprecedented in its size and scope and I am very excited about its potential to attract thousands of volunteers and supporters.” In 2009, the RNC Victory program made 5.8 million voter contacts and put in 165,715 volunteer hours, resulting in victories across the country.  In total, last year Republicans won 26 of 37 special elections and played a major role in more than 30 successful races.  In 2010, we have put 290 staffers on the ground with 264 offices opened, and to date have made more than 5 million voter contact calls.  The RNC is building on this success with strategic investments in key states like Delaware that will help deliver Republican victories in November.  For more information about office locations and hours, please visit: www.delawaregop.com/victory.aspx.

Statement From RNC Chairman Michael Steele On The Washington State Primaries

Tue, 08/17/2010 - 7:40am
WASHINGTON – Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Michael Steele released the following statement today: “Congratulations to Dino Rossi, John Koster, Jaime Herrera, Dave Reichert and all of the Washington State Republican candidates on advancing to the general election.  These outstanding fiscal conservatives will shake-up Washington D.C., by focusing on pro-growth economic policies that will create jobs, instead of trying to tax-and-spend our way out of this recession.  The Republican Party stands united behind these great candidates and will provide the resources necessary to win in November.”

Republican National Committee Releases New Web Video “Crazy”

Mon, 08/16/2010 - 9:55am
WASHINGTON – The Republican National Committee (RNC) announced a new web video today that puts a spotlight on Democrat candidates who are going out of their way to run away from President Obama and his unpopular policies. The video, entitled “Crazy,” can be viewed here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TCG1PD4cirE. “With unemployment hovering around double-digits and a majority of Americans unhappy with the direction of the country, it is not a surprise endangered Democrats do not want President Obama to come to their districts and remind voters of their failed economic policies. Democrat candidates continue to work overtime to distance themselves from the Obama agenda but there is nothing they can do to hide from the spending, tax hikes and government takeovers that have stood in the way of economic recovery. So long as the President continues to ask Democrats to ignore the concerns of voters and help ram through his liberal agenda, he can expect the campaign trail to be quite a lonely place.” - RNC Chairman Michael Steele

Will Joe Donnelly Stand Up To Tim Kaine’s “Crazy” Rhetoric?

Fri, 08/13/2010 - 1:42pm
WASHINGTON – Today, DNC Chairman Tim Kaine said that Democrats who are pushing back on the failed agenda of Barack Obama, Harry Reid, and Nancy Pelosi are “crazy” to do so.  With 9.5 percent unemployment, skyrocketing national debt, and looming small business tax hikes creating even more economic uncertainty, the Obama Administration’s failed policies are forcing vulnerable Democrats across the country to run from their Party’s leadership and hide their reckless voting record. Democrat incumbent Joe Donnelly is trying his best to convince voters that despite his lock-step support of Barack Obama, Harry Reid, and Nancy Pelosi’s failed agenda, he will be free from the influence of the Democrat establishment in Washington, DC.  Does Donnelly agree with DNC Chair Tim Kaine that pushing back against Democrat leadership is “crazy”? “The Obama Administration’s reckless spending, massive growth of government, and failure to create jobs is forcing Democrat candidates across the country to desperately run from their records and separate themselves from leaders of their Party.  While Joe Donnelly runs from his party, Hoosiers have a clear choice in Jackie Walorski, who is a strong Republican candidate that will stand up to the Obama-Pelosi agenda and work hard to get America back on track. “Will Joe Donnelly stand up to Tim Kaine and denounce the misguided policies of the Obama Administration, or will he continue to play two sides against the middle and try to hide their lock-step support for the Democrats’ big-government agenda and do whatever it takes to get elected?  First, the White House insulted its base, and now the DNC is insulting its candidates. Maybe reality is finally settling in for a Party that has spent the last two years in denial of the overwhelming public opposition to their tax-and-spend policies.” – Ryan Tronovitch, RNC Spokesman I can tell you Democrats who kind of are afraid to be who they are, or who are pushing back on their leaders - I think they're crazy.” – DNC Chair Tim Kaine, Fox and Friends, 8/13/10

Will Ohio’s Failed Job Czar Lee Fisher Stand Up To Tim Kaine’s “Crazy” Rheto

Fri, 08/13/2010 - 1:41pm
WASHINGTON – Today, DNC Chairman Tim Kaine said that Democrats who are pushing back on the failed agenda of Barack Obama, Harry Reid, and Nancy Pelosi are “crazy” to do so.  With 9.5 percent unemployment, skyrocketing national debt, and looming small business tax hikes creating even more economic uncertainty, the Obama Administration’s failed policies are forcing vulnerable Democrats across the country to run from their Party’s leadership and hide their reckless voting record. Democrat Senate hopeful and Failed Job Czar Lee Fisher is trying his best to convince voters that despite his lock-step support of Barack Obama, Harry Reid, and Nancy Pelosi’s failed agenda, he will be free from the influence of the Democrat establishment in Washington, DC.  Does Fisher agree with DNC Chair Tim Kaine that pushing back against Democrat leadership is “crazy”? “The Obama Administration’s reckless spending, massive growth of government, and failure to create jobs is forcing Democrat candidates across the country to desperately run from their records and separate themselves from leaders of their Party.  The only thing crazier than continuing down a path that has resulted in 9.5 percent unemployment, skyrocketing national debt, and a government takeover of healthcare would be campaigning with the Democrat leaders responsible.  Will Lee Fisher stand up to Tim Kaine and denounce the misguided policies of the Obama Administration, or will he continue to play two sides against the middle and try to hide his lock-step support for the Democrats’ big-government agenda and do whatever it takes to get elected?  First, the White House insulted its base, and now the DNC is insulting its candidates. Will John Yarmuth Stand Up To Tim Kaine’s “Crazy” Rhetoric?

Fri, 08/13/2010 - 1:40pm
WASHINGTON – Today, DNC Chairman Tim Kaine said that Democrats who are pushing back on the failed agenda of Barack Obama, Harry Reid, and Nancy Pelosi are “crazy” to do so.  With 9.5 percent unemployment, skyrocketing national debt, and looming small business tax hikes creating even more economic uncertainty, the Obama Administration’s failed policies are forcing vulnerable Democrats across the country to run from their Party’s leadership and hide their reckless voting record. Democrat congressional hopeful John Yarmuth is trying his best to convince voters that despite his lock-step support of Barack Obama, Harry Reid, and Nancy Pelosi’s failed agenda, he will be free from the influence of the Democrat establishment in Washington, DC.  Does Yarmuth agree with DNC Chair Tim Kaine that pushing back against Democrat leadership is “crazy”? “The Obama Administration’s reckless spending, massive growth of government, and failure to create jobs is forcing Democrat candidates across the country to desperately run from their records and separate themselves from leaders of their Party.  The only thing crazier than continuing down a path that has resulted in 9.5 percent unemployment, skyrocketing national debt, and a government takeover of healthcare would be campaigning with the Democrat leaders responsible.  Will John Yarmuth stand up to Tim Kaine and denounce the misguided policies of the Obama Administration, or will he continue to play two sides against the middle and try to hide his lock-step support for the Democrats’ big-government agenda and do whatever it takes to get elected?  First, the White House insulted its base, and now the DNC is insulting its candidates. Does DNC Chair Tim Kaine Believe That Roy Barnes Is “Crazy?”

Fri, 08/13/2010 - 1:37pm
It was well documented that Democrat candidate for Governor, Roy Barnes, stayed far away from President Obama when he visited Georgia. Today, DNC Chairman Tim Kaine said that Democrats who are running away from Barack Obama, Harry Reid, and Nancy Pelosi are “crazy” to do so. So then apparently Tim Kaine believes that former Gov. Roy Barnes, who refused to attend campaign events with President Obama, is “crazy.” The Democratic Party of Georgia was thrilled to have Tim Kaine as their keynote speaker at a DPG fundraiser earlier this year. Given their fond relationship with the DNC Chairman, do Georgia Democrats agree with Tim Kaine that Roy Barnes is “crazy?”  Or is it time for Georgia Democrats to admit that their Party is in disarray?   “I can tell you Democrats who kind of are afraid to be who they are ,or who are pushing back on their leaders - I think they're crazy.” – DNC Chair Tim Kaine, Fox and Friends, 8/13/10

Does DNC Chair Tim Kaine Believe That Elaine Marshall Is “Crazy”?

Fri, 08/13/2010 - 1:34pm
Even though Elaine Marshall agrees with President Obama on almost every single issue, she hedged on whether or not she wanted President Obama to campaign with her. Perhaps Elaine Marshall read the political tea leaves of this toxic administration, or as “a darling of the progressive movement” she may have considered President Obama’s big-government agenda too conservative for her liking. Either way, the thought of having the President on the North Carolina campaign trail gave Marshall great pause. Today, DNC Chairman Tim Kaine said that Democrats who are running away from Barack Obama, Harry Reid, and Nancy Pelosi are “crazy” to do so.Given Elaine Marshall’s back and forth on this issue, does Tim Kaine think Elaine Marshall is “crazy”? Will Elaine Marshall stand up to Kaine’s characterization of her? And if she does in fact want to be seen in the Tar Heel state with the President at her side, when will she invite him down for a visit? After Robert Gibbs blasted the left with similar “crazy” comments, does Elaine Marshall still want him coming to North Carolina on her behalf? Looks like there are a lot of questions for Elaine to answer. “I can tell you Democrats who kind of are afraid to be who they are ,or who are pushing back on their leaders - I think they're crazy.” – DNC Chair Tim Kaine, Fox and Friends, 8/13/10

Republican National Committee And The Oregon Republican Party Announce D2H Victory Campaign

Fri, 08/13/2010 - 7:04am
WASHINGTON – The Republican National Committee today announced Oregon’s D2H Victory campaign to establish the grassroots political operation to ensure Republican candidates are successful in November.  In partnership with the Oregon Republican Party, the RNC is providing funding and resources to build the in-state GOP structure to support Republican leaders. The RNC will devote the resources necessary to enhance the Oregon GOP’s ability to effectively reach Republican voters and tap into the state’s grassroots volunteer base.  This investment in Republican state parties is a critical part of the RNC’s Delaware to Hawaii (“D2H”) strategy to compete aggressively in all fifty states.  “The RNC is excited to be partnering with the Oregon Republican Party to provide the necessary support to win this important race,” said RNC Chairman Michael Steele.  “The success of the Republican Party starts with the volunteers who knock on doors, make phone calls, attend events, and reach out to Republican voters in their own small communities and neighborhoods.  Oregonians will send a clear message to Nancy Pelosi that it’s time to change the business-as-usual backroom deals and the big government policies that are failing to deliver for the American people.” “This is an exceptional opportunity for Oregonians to become involved in the electoral process at a critically important time for Oregon and our nation,” said Oregon GOP Chairman Bob Tiernan.  “I thank Chairman Steele for his leadership in making this partnership available to the Oregon Republican Party.” In 2009, Republicans made 5.8 million voter contacts and put in 165,715 volunteer hours, resulting in victories across the country.  In total, last year Republicans won 26 of 37 special elections and played a major role in more than 30 successful races.  The RNC is building on this success with strategic investments in key states and districts that will help deliver Republican victories in November.
